New service for online viewing of animals available for adoption

The Humane Society of Durham Region has set up a new method for viewing animals that are available for adoption. In order to increase the exposure of our animals to the general public, the Humane Society of Durham Region has partnered with Petfinder.com to provide on-line viewing of animals available for adoption at the shelter.

To view only those animals available at our shelter, click on the link below.  Anyone interested in adopting a pet can still visit the shelter in Oshawa.

If you are interested in any of our furry friends, please come down to our shelter and meet them in person.
We are located at 199 Waterloo Street, Unit 2, Oshawa. See map and our new shelter hours on Pg 2.

As of February 15th, 2008, we have the following pets.

TATER AND TOT

Tater and Tot - a pair of 1 year old male Grey Tabbies.
They are brothers and have to go together.
They love to cuddle with each other and are
very affectionate but a little nervous.

CASEY

Casey - a very sweet 4 year male spaniel type. He was
brought in after being found by Animal services. He is
suffering from a very bad skin condition that is currently
being treated. He likes most other animals.

DONNER

Donner - one of 11 dogs and pups that came in just before
Christmas. She is a 4 year old Female Shepherd. She is
very hyper and requires lots of exercise. Obedience
training is a must for her. No small kids or other animals
at least for the present until she is properly trained.
Given the right home she can make someone a great dog.

STEWIE

Stewie - a 3 year old male grey tabby. He is extremely
affectionate and loves to be held tight and cuddled.
He seems to be ok with other cats but we are
unsure about dog

SMOKEY

Smokey - a 1 year old brown tabby female. She came to
us pregnant but unfortunately lost all her babies during
the birthing process. She is doing well and is spayed.
She is very affectionate.

JASON

Jason - a 7 year old male Toy Fox Terrier. Very
affectionate. Loves to be carried. He needs someone who
will be able to give him lots of love and attention. He
will need some housebreaking but he should train quickly.

TYSON

Tyson - a 2 year old Retriever/Dalmation cross who was
abandoned and tied to a tree.
He seems to like other dogs.

GUINEA PIGS

Guinea pigs - many to choose from.

MIMSEY

Mimsey - a very sweet black girl. She is about 2 years old.

LARRY

A 5 year old purebred Beagle male. He is friendly
but needs a home with no neighbours who live close.
(He likes to howl).

OCTAVIUS

Octavius - a 2 year old male buff short hair who is very
playful. He was a stray that was hit by a car and required
major surgery on his leg.

NATALIA

Natalia - a lovely 2 year old calico short hair. Very sweet.
Abandoned by her owner.
