You Can Make A Difference!
The
Humane Society of Durham Region is a non-profit organization and a
registered charity. We do not receive any funding from provincial or
municipal agencies. We operate solely on the generosity of the public
and people like yourself, who love animals. With your donations of
money or goods you are helping us rescue and protect animals that are
innocent victims of abuse. Pledges and Donations
Your
support through a one-time donation or monthly pledge helps provide
food and care for our animals and support the Investigations Department
in its effort to investigate and prevent animal abuse. All donations,
no matter how small, make a difference. A Pledge form can be downloaded

Gift of Life
 The Gift of Life
fund covers costs for animals that need extended medical treatment and
care due to injuries caused by accidents or abuse. Amber, a recent Gift
of Life recipient, is a perfect example. She was badly neglected and
needed medical care and extensive treatment at the shelter. She
is now fully recovered, thanks to the generosity of many people and
organizations who donated to the fund, and has been adopted. A Gift of

Project Duke
Project
Duke is a means for individuals or organizations to make a one-time
donation to commemorate a friend or special pet. A brass plaque will be
engraved according to the wishes of the donor and displayed on a
special board at the Humane Society shelter. A minimum donation of $75

Donations of Supplies
Operation
of the shelter requires many goods and supplies such food and other
supplies for the care of the animals, office materials and equipment
for administrative activities and materials for general cleaning and
maintenance of the shelter. All donations of goods are greatly
appreciated. Some of the badly needed supplies are shown on our Wish List page.
