News
Advertiser
For the past year, the News
Advertiser has found
sponsors for us to have
four pet pictures in the
paper once a month. It
was very successful and
resulted in some wonderful
adoptions for us. We are
looking for any advertisers
who might be willing to
pay $105.00/month for a
single size ad or
$185.00/month for a
double sized ad. Artwork
is no charge. If we can
find 6 sponsors we will
once again be able to feature
four of our animals in
need with a half page of
advertising, it really did
make a
difference. Anyone who
might be willing to help
can call Michael Briggs at
905 683-5110 ext. 238.
He was instrumental in
making this happen for us
and it would be great if it
didn’t have to stop. Let’s
keep the Durham Humane
Society Feature going!
POOCHES N PUDDLES DOG
SPLASH RAISES $1258.92!
On July 14th and August 11th, 2007, we held our annual dog wash and BBQ. For $10, dogs of all shapes and sizes enjoyed a flea or bubble bath.
Our shampoos were generously donated by Dale McGill and Shelley Carter of Tagamar Boarding Kennel, thank you!
Thanks Claire for arranging the shampoo donation.
Our volunteers were wonderful. It can be back breaking work but also a lot of fun. Dogs splashing and shaking
and barking at each other. Owners laughing, volunteers drenched by the end of the day.
It was a tremendous success and we raised a total of $1258.92.
Thanks to everyone who helped at the event and those who came with their animals, we hope to see you all next year.

COUNTRY DANCE RAISES $2646.90!
On Saturday April 7, we held out first ever country dance at the Royal Canadian Legion on Simcoe St S in Oshawa.
It was a resounding success. Country Time volunteered to entertain for the evening and people were dancing from start to finish, enjoying
the music and camaraderie. Special guests included Burnie Oldham, Arlene McLellan, Chef Adams and Elly Kelly & Aggie. We thank all
of you for supporting us and donating your time.
There were numerous wonderful door prizes, a guitar raffle and a 50/50 draw. So many local businesses donated for this evening…wags and
purrs to all of you. There was a light luncheon but what topped everything were the absolutely incredible desserts that the ladies made.
They were wonderful and delectable. Squares, cakes, muffins, candies and cookies. Oh so good.
WE RAISED $2646.90 TOWARDS OUR BUILDING FUND AND
MANY THANKS FOR TO BILL, STAN AND CINDY
for arranging this evening. To all of the volunteers, we couldn’t do it without you.
We look forward to seeing everyone again next tear for our 2nd Annual Country Dance.
