Become a Member
Becoming a member of the Humane Society of Durham Region
can be a rewarding experience. By doing so you have the satisfaction of
knowing that you are helping the animals on a regular basis. They are
defenseless creatures, often denied proper care and shelter, who cannot
speak for themselves. That is why the Humane Society exists. We are the
voice for these animals. We are dedicated to their care and well-being.

The Humane Society of Durham Region cannot do this alone. We receive no
funding from provincial or municipal agencies and operate solely
through the generosity of the people throughout and beyond Durham
Region. We need your support. Becoming a member gives us that support.
Membership
consists of a small commitment of $20 per year, less than two cups of
coffee each month. The membership fee can be paid one time
annually or through a monthly pledge. Membership does have its
privileges. The "Paw Prints" newsletter, published bi-monthly, is sent
to you by mail or e-mail (see our Newsletter
section about receiving the e-news to help cut mailing costs). You are
also able to vote for the Board of Directors and on important issues
raised by the Board at the Annual General Meeting.

Remember, one of the best ways to help the animals is to make a monthly pledge
for their care. It is a convenient and very effective way to make sure
that there are funds available every month to buy food, medication,
veterinarian care and provide proper shelter.
If
you have not yet made your pledge, please consider doing so. It is
simple to do. Just fill in the attachedpre-authorized payment form and
mail it along with either a blank cheque marked void or your VISA
credit card number and expiry date to: 199 Waterloo Street, Unit No. 2, Oshawa, Ontario L1H 3W9. Many thanks to those of you who have already made your pledge!
(You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. Click here for instructions on opening, saving and printing the form in PDF format.)
